Pros

- There's a works council since a couple of years, putting some effort on many areas. It may take time, but maybe they can improve some things.

Cons

- Needless meeting focused culture (that claims the opposite) - Intrasparent management (choices that impact all of us are often made behind closed doors and without sufficient justification) - Lots of pressure, and eventually not a family friendly work place (despite claims to the opposite) - Specialists/individual-contributors (i.e. non management) have no way to grow or advance, and (the often unimpressive) raises have to do with how much your boss likes you. - Often uninteresting work - Contributing to making even larger, one of the most polluting industries

Pros

Flexibility Focus on Diversity and Inclusion Great location in Berlin Collaboration culture

Cons

Lack of decission making, takes ages to get things done Obsession with paper writing with VPs reviewing papers and correcting comas and wording rather than help getting things done, papers get sometimes more comments than content Current focus on no-promoting people while the number of VPs and above is massive for a company this side Duplications of functions even within the same business area leads to duplicity and inefficiency

Pros

Salary was good for Head level. Worked with great people. Worked on important, ambitious work.

Cons

The culture without Jim Freeman is bad, which is unfortunate. No strong vision for the culture of the company, no positive role modeling by leaders. Bias towards inaction and lack of accountability, even among senior leaders. Many critical decisions affecting teams are made without any involvement or input from the teams themselves, which really takes away agency and sense of ownership in work. Very challenging to get cross-functional projects off the ground when many stakeholders are unwilling to collaborate because they don't see it as their responsibility. No direction from leadership to ensure cross-functional projects are executed. In fighting between board areas. No charisma from board members, at all. HR Business partners would rather let teams languish without leadership for months at a time instead of making decisive hires. Hybrid work rollout was a disaster, with little guidance and ultimately a toothless plan. Huge waste of everyone's time and energy, and lost good team members because of it.
