Direct management were disengaged, unsupportive, unreliable, inexperienced. They were overworked, stressed and disenchanted. We all knew it and could sense how disingenuous their platitudes are in meetings. It's not about what managers say. It is about what the managers do for staffing and how much flexibility they get from their managers.
