Pros

All sales associates are friendly and welcoming when you start. Everybody acts as equal and will pull together to help get your department finished if you are falling behind. The pay is good for the work being done.

Cons

Some of managements attitudes towards sales associates should be addressed. Very authoritative and power hungry at times. Rota's are only put up one week in advance so difficult to plan events with family/friends. Jobs can become monotonous and boring.

Pros

Pros of working is you can get more time off than many other places in retail when it comes to holidays.

Cons

There are many cons to working at tk maxx, I was a former employer in a store in Cumbria and I found that the management system was a joke. My manager and SOME colleagues had formed a click of which it was very hard and difficult to get into. They are willing to flog a willing horse and if you are a good employer they will work you into the ground and you will get no credit or appreciation for the hard work and efforts you are willing to put in. Where as the other members of staff weather they were just awful in general, or the ones that were close personal friends with my manager, would get the easier 7-4 shifts where as employers such as myself would be guaranteed to constantly be working 9-6:30 to close the store. Which I wouldn't of minded exept the rota is suppost to change so surely it would only be fair if everyone took it in turns as to who closes the store. But this is never a case, also other members of the store who were contracted to work Saturdays and Sunday's would often sometimes get Sunday's off. Where as I was contracted 8 hours but was working all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday whilst being at college, and the employees that didn't do much would get the occasional Sunday's off if not needed. They forget when you tell them you specifically can't work until a certain time, and rota you in anyway, and then make you feel bad when you have to re explain why you can't make it.
