Pros

1. Attractive policy, health insurance, gym, variables etc 2. work from home, sick leave etc

Cons

1. Its not product based but behavior is of service based. lots of politics by managers. 2. Technologist, architects, senior architects have very tough life and no job security. 3. 4 times a years reorganization happens and only technical people get fired specially Engineers, Architects and Test Architects. 4. Mismanagement at lower level is causing failing of BUs, one after another.

Constant Reorganizing

Pros

It is huge and has resources and the people are generally good and culture is usually good.

Cons

Leadership has no direction or vision and they are constantly re-organizing and laying of large batches of people. Then find that they needed those people to get the work done. So the work load increases for the survivors. Every two years there is a new set of executives and they take everyone down a new direction and then two years later there is a shirt in a different direction. HR has said they don't help people anymore - they just work on mass layoffs and protecting leadership.

addicted to restructurings

Pros

Philips is global company, so your mileage will vary, but in my experience: - 401k plan is better than most. - Work/Life balance is great. - Global and dynamic business model - complex/challenging projects - Philips products do improve people’s lives. - Philips brand looks good on a resume. - Company seems to be on an upward trajectory

Cons

Typical big company issues: - Lousy Non-existent culture - The never ending RIFs and restructurings have left the organization resource constrained, dumber, confused, and demoralized. - ‘If you ain’t Dutch you ain’t much” is a real thing. Not a great company if you’re an American. -Upper Management can be a bit penny wise and pound foolish.
