stay away bad toxic job

Pros

Good Benefits, flexible schedule, good pay

Cons

Toxic environment, management will keep putting more work on staff until they are overworked, if you ask for help you will get written up, if you make suggestions for improvement's you will get written up again or put on a PIP. Poor training which is then used against you for not training your self better. Speak up ethics complaint just shares the info with current manager who then retaliates against the employee. Just a tool to protect the company from lawsuits by employees. Manager takes employee's idea as their own. Worst job I have ever had.

Pros

Employee friendly HR policies. Competitive Compensation Strong Brand Reputation Healthcare Impact

Cons

Be cautious while joining as Software Technologist Role, Role is very much misleading and having undefined scope and responsibilities. I would suggest someone from Development role or wish to be in Development role should not join this role. In this role candidate may have to do everything other than development. It may be handling hardware/machines in their labs , installation/uninstallation SW or OS , some patch work etc. Assembly or disassembly of machine .At the end no relevant learning. Furthermore, there may be instances of favoritism within the team that can impact the dynamics. It's advisable to be prepared for potential challenges in team dynamics. Old team members try to keep information/knowledge/resources hidden from new joiners. That creates unnecessary pressure on the candidate Lastly, it's worth mentioning that Philips is currently facing certain challenges that affect compensation and work-life balance. If you value work-life balance, it's something to consider.

Pros

Collegial Environment: The friendly atmosphere has consistently been a highlight. Generous Health Plan: Comprehensive, though costly. Work from Home Flexibility: Convenient but with restrictions.

Cons

Bureaucratic Structure: A significant impediment to creativity and efficiency. Compensation and Benefits: Uncompetitive pay, non-existent bonuses, and failure to match inflation. Flexible Vacation - A Misnomer: Less accommodating than it appears. Restrictions on Remote Work: Diminished flexibility due to rigid scheduling. Company Performance and Layoffs: As of 2023, Philips Healthcare has been struggling, resulting in layoffs. The senior leadership's handling of these layoffs has been uncompassionate. Overbearing DEI Program: The implementation of Philips' DEI program has been perceived as overbearing.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It's clear that your Philips experience overall has not been positive. We regret to hear that the compensation and benefits provided aren't what you had hoped for, that you're missing a certain level of sympathy from senior management and that you'd like to see changes made when it comes to the implementation of DEI. We're constantly striving for improvement, not only as manufacturer but also as employer. Our management is also active here on Glassdoor and is closely monitoring all reviews: your points of advice are welcome and will be noted. Thank you again for looking back at the 2+ years you've been working for Philips in Alpharetta. Your experience is important to us. We wish you all the best moving forward.
