Love the company and product. Disappointed by leadership

Pros

Love the brand and product and have been a part of building that for many years and have enjoyed much of my time here. There are certainly lots of positives and benefits.

Cons

I've been wildly disappointed by my new leadership who filled a senior position with more responsibility without a fair or transparent hiring process. The role was never posted. The position was "gifted" to a fair newcomer to the company who has no proven track-record to execute the work expected. After working hard for the company for years, I would have at least expected the opportunity to apply for a more senior role but was not even given the option when an opportunity arose. Ultimately, I feel let down and in disbelief that my hard work and loyalty have amounted to nothing in the eyes of this management. It's demotivating to the point of anxiety, stress, and a desire to look for a new role.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. This isn’t a behaviour/culture we want to promote as a brand. We’ll be looking into this more closely to ensure our hiring processes are being adhered to.

Pros

Friendly colleagues, good benefits, mostly fixed shifts, management is understanding

Cons

There's no progress. You can enjoy staying in the low entry positions for 5-10 years with absolutely no way of moving forward. It doesn't matter how many other departments you help, how knowledgeable you become or how fast you learn. There is no promotion based on knowledge and experience, the only chances you get are a couple of SEASONAL positions for a higher level which are open to the public and are given based on interview skills above everything else. And if you do get the position, have fun them postponing the end of the seasonal position, but not giving you the permanent even after months and months. It's lovely to know you might have to go back to the lower level job after tasting a bit of the progression. If you want to do the same job over and over, with issues created by higher corp which leads to angry customer contacts because they can't be arsed to update information in time or be transparent, and basically have a dead-end position with absolutely 0 chance of progression, and are essentially desperate for a salary, go for it.
