A waste of time, I wish I could back in time and make a different choice. Mistakes come at a cost

Pros

Everyone smiles. Central location. Work -life balance ok; there is time for work and time for family. The company does not prevent either.

Cons

But they bark at you via email & stab you in the back. Hypocritical toxic environment dominated by internal politics. Sales-dominated office; if you do anything else than selling fuels, forget making a difference. You don't. Obnoxiously bureaucratic. Stratified system of Rules that would interest more palaeontologists than business people. Largest majority of people sitting at their desk are busy writing emails to other depts only to justify their presence, with no real productivity involved. The "one team" motto is in reality a way of taking no responsibility over decisions and fosters a "blame culture". Be prepared to spend 70% of your time reading useless emails and be left with precious little time to produce something meaningful.

It is a good company to work for; however, it is the people that make it a dreadful place to go.

First are the benefits, decent pto accrual and stable company. A gym and soon a cabana on the roof of the building

Cons

People. No room for growth unless you are in the "in crowd." Too much buracracy. Dont bother to transfer unless you know people even then, watch out

Sweat Shop by Dictator

Pros

The company is growing leaps and bounds. No concerns of it going under. The work is challenging and interesting. The compensation and benefits are pretty good.

Cons

The IT dept is run by a dictatorship. Very few of IT management think for themselves. The work load is intensive and unrealistic. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt it's because of the fast growth. They burn out the hard workers and don't recognize them for their work. There are many slackers within the company (some old employees and newly joined) who continue with a standard < 40 hour work week when others are putting in 50-65 hours a week. They have a gift of trying to look busy and take credit for other peoples work. Sharing of knowledge is rare. It's something you have to earn from your peers. I understand why though. The hard workers put in lot of personal time to understand the business and learn the systems. Any time they take away from their workload, is extra time they need to put in later. Promotion within only goes so far. They will promote you to a lead position but that's as far as it will go and it's only a title change. You will still perform the same job. Any type of management position is hired from the outside. I've never seen so many re-orgs in my life.
