Pros

Pros include a level 4 job title which gives you a little higher of a pay, you learn a lot about freshness of vegetables and fruit that you can apply to your personal life, keeps you in shape, you are always kept busy and time goes by decently fast.

Cons

This is not a job for weak people. There is a lot of awkward, heavy lifting. The coolers are small and you have to constantly maneuver 50+ pound bins of fruit and vegetables around the cooler and out to the sales floor. This job may also require you to open or close which are both dreadful. To open the department, must arrive at 5 am and put away the pallets of produce into the cooler which is painstakingly long and tiresome. When you close, you have to clean and scrub the whole backroom. Huge bags of potatoes are 50 pounds a piece and you may have to lift and maneuver the bags 20 times or more so this is definitely not a job for the weak or unfit.

Pros

If you can make a positive change at Wal-Mart, you are impacting the world. It's unbelievably influential as a corporation, both by it's sheer mass, but also political sway -- far more so than you realize when reading about it from the outside.

Cons

Because of the size and nature of the company, it is difficult to be creative or to feel like creativity is rewarded. Cost-cutting and sales are rewarded. It's very focused on quarterly results.
