Pros

Free Nespresso Coffee, free covered parking in Lombard, IL USA, ability to work from home 2 days per week.

Cons

Low pay, bad 401K matching, terrible management, poorly run organization that has too many VP's and managers, while there are not enough line level employees. There is no open communication and departments do not work together or help each other. The company does not follow required US labor laws and I was told to lie on official documents. Organization lacks ethics and integrity while they allow specific managers to be a bully and cause retaliation when issues arise. There is very high turnover and much of that is because of management in the US corporate office in Lombard, IL.

Pros

Received pay during the pandemic even though they suspended operations (most likely due to Waymo/Google's commitment to paying their contractors).

Cons

1. From the start, I knew I wasn't going to stay long. I was so excited about the project initially. The interview process was so generic and they literally hire anyone with a driver's license and a heartbeat. 2. Unorganized in the hiring process. They also promised a sign-on hiring bonus to all new hires and I never received that bonus. 3. When we were on site, other employees of Waymo/Google didn't interact with you and I felt very unwelcomed. 4. There was no communication from Waymo or Transdev leadership about the important work we were doing and how Transdev contributed to Waymo's goal. We were there to be test dummies and log miles. Doesn't really sound motivating. 5. The pay is low. 6. The supervisors talk to employees like trash. They are quick to fire and will let you know that. They also foster toxic work environments. Supervisors and managers need some serious people skills and management training. 7. Communication is terrible. No one knows who is responsible for what. My HR related questions weren't answered and there is no one at corporate to help you. I was there for over 90 days and never signed up for benefits. 8. The benefits are crap compared to working onsite with a tech company. I mean there is a huge difference in benefits offered and Transdev doesn't offer much. Sometimes Waymo offices close and you won't receive pay.

Pros

none. none. none. none. none.

Cons

I had to do 5 weeks of driver training even though I was hired on as a supervisor/dispatcher. This was not mentioned in the interview. I think its a pretty big thing to mention. If that wasn't bad enough, be prepared to ride every single route in Vaughan on your OWN time with NO pay during training or they threaten your job. I got no clear answers from anyone. If I had known this I would never have left my previous job. Complete bait and switch situation. Given the title of a supervisor/dispatcher/inspector, don't be fooled, it basically means you are at the whim of management. If they need you to cover a route because a driver is late, sick or a no show, you gotta go. If they need you to dispatch, you gotta go. If they need you to be an inspector..you guessed it you're the winner. Some drivers need to be retrained, matter of fact, the entire training program needs to be restructured.
