Cons

Toxic work culture, low pay, crazy work hours, time sheets, no adequate training for new hires, no freedom at all for new hires. It is like a dictatorship of mean bosses. There is absolutely no support for new employees. The company work culture is very toxic in the air practices (Salt Lake City and San Francisco offices). I went in as a new employee and was treated totally unwelcome and every single day at work I felt like I was there to testify in front of a jury. They have no time to train new employees. You will only survive and excel at this place if you are already very experienced. Not a place for new hires dreaming of starting an exciting new career. You will be expected to work way more than 45 hours a week to meet the 40 hour mark for a full time position and you are hardly thanked for your efforts. Rather, they will provide you extremely limited instructions, discourage you to ask questions, expect you to magically know everything and only generate revenue for them from thin air. And they will take every opportunity to pull your leg and yell at you for not being psychic and knowing everything you are supposed to do without them letting you know. Minor mistakes from new hires will be highly exaggerated. If anyone you work with finds a small mistake in your work it will go straight to your boss behind your back. I was fired a year into the company despite showing drastic performance improvements.

Pros

1. Its belief and mission in promoting sustainability. I personally believe that this is an important direction the world needs to take and I am glad that Ramboll is a strong believer in this as well. 2. It's a prestigious brand, which adds to your personal resume.

Cons

I've worked in the Singapore office and hence will be writing from that perspective. 1. It's too big as a firm. While the vision is clear, the strategy on how to get there and how to go to market can be quite lacking. Report lines can be confusing and processes can be bureaucratic. 2. It's fairly conservative in risk appetite. This means that they're not willing to try new things. Departments are also very much down to the bottom line - not that it's not important, but sometimes the firm seems focused on short term P&L and lack the gumption to proceed in a certain business trajectory. 3. It's very European-centric. This means that offices and colleagues not in Europe can be seen as "second class" compared to the European colleagues. At times Europe may want to enter your market to "compete" for the project, which makes it competitive. This may mean that you may not feel supported by HQ if you're not in Europe. 4. Related to 3, they do not quite understand non-European business cultures and markets, and tend to make decisions through European lenses. This can make it difficult to pursue opportunities if you need support from Europe on specific projects, as they may take too long to decide or may decline participating. 5. Ironically, each office functions quite independently with little opportunity to work together and cross share, even between offices within the same business units. 6. Related to 5, Singapore's perks are really poor compared to Denmark. Pay isn't great, leave benefits are minimum and the location of the office is inaccessible.

Pros

I have been working at Ramboll ENVIRON full-time (4 years). Ramboll ENVIRON is a stable company with a very solid foundation. It is a reputable firm in the environmental consulting world. If you're looking for a long-term career, this is the place. This firm will be around for a long time. Ramboll has a very rich compensation/benefits package. It offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, as well as maternity/paternity leave. 401k match in addition to a pension plan with no contributions required from employees, which is rare. Generous sick leave and vacation hours compared to other industries. Free meals and many company-paid events. Competitive pay. I love it that the firm has good, "real" (degreed) HR people in almost every local office in the U.S. Good management. Best, upper management listen to their employees' feedback. Company takes good care of their employees.

Cons

Lack of growth opportunities. Although no fancy titles here for support staff due to company' s structure (it's a giant in technical aspect so focus is more on the technical staff) but pay is just as good or even better than smaller companies with all these fancy job titles for support staff! Other than that, everything else is generally good.
