Management blatantly choose favorites and when you're out of the inner circle, you might as well resign. Favorites seem to be men most of the time and it's not unusual to see a man who has worked there for half of the amount of time as a woman be promoted over her (even when she works long hours and produces great work).
The products are outdated and the industry has consolidated significantly in the past few decades, which means that competitors are huge conglomerates with more resources and better, more modern interfaces. The founders (Prez & CEO) purchased a home out of state a few years ago and rumors fly that they may retire soon. Their children worked at QAD for a few years, but appear to have their own career goals outside of the company, which makes some employees nervous that the company will be sold to a large competitor.
If you insist on working here, be aware that they WILL lowball on salary. Be prepared to negotiate more aggressively than with other companies in SB.
