      Lack of Empathy and Poor Leadership Overshadow Role Potential

      The role itself had potential; however, the company culture ultimately undermines it.

      Cons

      Lack of empathy, poor leadership, and unprofessional handling of sensitive situations. The termination process was handled in a cold and disrespectful manner, particularly given that it took place during the Christmas period. Additionally, the decision-making process appears fundamentally flawed, as termination decisions are concentrated in the hands of a single manager. There was no meaningful opportunity for dialogue, feedback, or self-representation. HR was present in a purely formal or observational capacity, seemingly only to confirm that procedures were followed, rather than to act as an independent or protective function for employees. Overall, the timing, communication, and structure of the process showed little regard for the human side of employment.

      Working at MBDA - 1 month review -

      Pros

      Very good company to work for: Plenty of opportunities to ask questions and give opinions. Team spirit is an MBDA key value, this is very apparent during the first month as support and training are always available.

      Cons

      None: The standards are high, and systems new, would recommend the business as an employer to friends and family

      Challenging environment despite interesting work

      Pros

      The role itself was interesting and exposed me to complex work and stakeholders. I worked with several supportive colleagues who were professional and kind, and I gained valuable experience despite the challenges.

      Cons

      Unfortunately, the team environment was difficult. Management style lacked consistency and psychological safety, and feedback was often unclear or reactive rather than constructive. Requests for support or flexibility were not always accommodated, which made it challenging to perform at my best.
