Pros

- HubSpot doesn't just hire geniuses (like Google), they hire people who can and do talk to one another and make work fun. I hang out with my coworkers outside of work, because I actually like them. - There is so much opportunity to make an impact - Being B2B means that our users are using this software day in and day out and running their businesses on HubSpot, which gives you a lot more reason to care about the customers vs working someplace like Facebook - People are generally automonous with the right level of communication - Meetings are kept to be as few as possible, as few people as possible, as little time as possible, as productive as possible, so there is plenty of developer time and no time spent in unneccessary meetings - People work around 40 hours a week, NOT 50-60 - No the unlimited vacation doesn't mean you can just not come to work, but it also doesn't mean you can't take time off. People take more time off on average than companies with a fixed amount of PTO. I'd rather not have to save up time off just in case I need it than have my leftover PTO paid out when I leave. - Working from home is not frowned upon - Upper management is transparent - It never gets boring because we never get complacent, everything is always changing, growing, moving forward - No deductible on health insurance

Cons

Everything I can think of to put here is things other people might not like, like all the change and fast pace, but I don't see that as a con myself

I'm not crying, you're crying. Seriously, thanks for the nice callout--I have to say, working with Eric is one of my favorite things about working at HubSpot. No one gets to see all the times he tries to figure out what's best for our engineers, HubSpot, and our culture, and I'll never get sick of working with him to solve those problems given the empathy he uses to approach each situation. The specificity of your feedback is SO helpful for our candidates, so thank you for taking the time to share this level of detail. I would echo your commentary on unlimited vacation and autonomy, and I particularly love how you called out our disdain for being complacent, it's one of the things that gets me energized to come into work every day. Thanks for all you do to build a product people love, and for the kind review--you made my week. -Katie

Pros

What you hear about the culture at HubSpot is real- it's an incredible place to work. The high level of transparency from the leadership team allows me to walk in the door every day excited to help our customers grow their businesses with the software (not to mention think critically about our own business challenges as we scale). I highly recommend the experience of working/collaborating/learning with the HubSpot team.

Cons

There can be long hours - but there is flexibility to work remote.

It makes me happier than I can even tell you that you love walking in the door every day here, we are delighted to have you! Love that you work remote from time to time to save yourself from a daily commute--we plan to do more on that front in the years to come, so thanks for the feedback! Appreciate you taking the time to write this up, and for all that you do to help HubSpot grow. Sincerely, Katie

Pros

I've been here a while now and have really enjoyed my time here. Every quarter or year there are new challenges that my coworkers and I are eager to solve. It's fascinating watching the entire company change year over year.

Cons

The culture and daily life is somewhat opinionated (documented well by the Culture Code presentation). There are always tradeoffs and HubSpot is no different.

Not going to lie, I laughed out loud at your opinionated note--you're absolutely right. People here have strong takes on things and it's worth noting and good feedback to be aware of that coming in. The good news is we host open debates on many of those issues, and my hope is that we have strong beliefs loosely held and are open to discussion and data to change our minds as appropriate. I'm delighted you're still loving HubSpot five years plus in, and promise we'll double down on the focus and execution we've been pounding the table about this year. Thanks for all your time and hard work at HubSpot, I'm extremely grateful. -Katie
