Pros

HubSpot was a window into a workplace you can actually enjoy. The employees are intelligent and fun. You have access to a snack area, beer fridge, ping pong table, games, hammocks, etc., and you learn a LOT while you're on the job. Despite the Cons listed below, this is still a really great place to work.

Cons

Into salary is on the lower end of the scale (but by no means is it unlivable or far below average). With enough rear-kissing, you can move up, even if you're not qualified. If you're exceptionally talented, you can move up. Once you've worked here, you have the skills to be successful and desirable/attractive to other companies who will gladly hire you and at a hire salary than you made at HubSpot.

Pros

AMAZING. COLLEAGUES. They are some of the smartest people I've ever met, and the most friendly and easy-going. Definitely the kind of people that you'd like to stay in touch and stay friends even after if and when leaving HubSpot. Good job recruiting the brightest people out there!

Cons

A LOT depends on your manager, which can be good and bad. Every manager manages their team differently, and that reflects on the flexibility of where/when/how you work sometimes regardless of how much you deliver. Also, not much of a con depending on some people, but there is a lack of teamwork in a day-to-day. Of course there are plenty of times when we reach out to others for help/guidance or confirming something, but most of the job is done alone.

Thank you for the review and for helping our customers in Japan grow as we scale. I would agree with your push on ensuring we think global first--the objective for our growth is to create a really strong global culture but also to empower local traditions that help us give employees autonomy in each market to solve for our customers and prospects. We'll continue to innovate on the ground in Japan and look forward to working with you to make that happen and to visiting the team again in the near future--such a wonderful group of HubSpotters and the photos of your new space look wonderful! -Katie

Pros

HubSpot invests in people, diversity, and culture. No workplace is perfect, but HubSpot is always taking serious strides to get there anyway. Very flexible workplace if you take advantage of it, and overall good experience.

Cons

Intense work environment, high expectations, and work flexibility depends on your manager. Some coworkers feel judged by their managers if they don't get into the office at before 8 am or if they leave before 5 some days. (I don't personally experience this but it all depends on the team and manager you work with). HubSpot isn't as diverse or inclusive as it should be, but is working toward it.
