Pros

Nice co workers, and nice snacks in breakroom, customers are really cool, I like them and they like me.

Cons

Management is tired overworked, and often not knowing what the headboss really wants, kissing up to whoever is in charge seems to be prevalent amongst them. Expectations of new hires is too high, and intimidating them into quitting seems to be a cost effective measure for the stores, that have a tight budget and cannot afford to hire anyone new ,and pay the workers with seniority their salary. I can't help thinking this wasn't going on before the pandemic. Also why do people in the breakroom not talk to each other? Strangest thing I've ever seen... How come people don't get breaks or lunches together on occasion? Everyone is very lively and friendly with each other on the selling floor, but in the breakroom, everyone is quiet like someone died!! Weird atmosphere, and I don't understand it at all.

Pros

The best thing about working at the Home Goods store was the discount.

Cons

Management at my store in Missouri was the absolute worst. They were unprofessional and lacked work ethic. They would hide in the back room and “work” with their masks off and come out on occasion to yell at people or criticize the way you were doing things. There was no leadership on how to train their employees to do a good job. I worked here temporarily as I was laid off from my corporate job due to the pandemic, and it was the worst and most toxic environment at the store level. Not only did my boss sexually harass me, but when I confronted him about his actions on my last day he told me that I was “Only good for selling credit cards”. The management, which also involved my boss, for hiring also was not great. People constantly on their phones, bad attitudes, and not a strong work ethic for those hired and kept on after holidays.
