      Great package, smart colleagues

      Pros

      * Great salary and bonuses * Smart colleagues * Good perks in the office (free food, gym, ...) * Relative independence towards the hours of work, no micro-management

      Cons

      * Career progression is slow and gets slower as the number of employees gets higher (e.g. a few years ago, a SWE was expected to ramp-up to L5, while it would be L4 now); also, it could me smarter to move to Facebook/Amazon/... and come back to get a higher level * Bureaucracy * Poor independence regarding the projects (ton of reviews, etc.) * Too much focus on inclusion / following the trends (e.g. Black Live Matters, etc.) rather than on the products (i.e. it became a highly political organisation)

      Fake values - Disalignment of values and reality

      interesting technology free food ;-) globally active growth and enough profit from ads business 80% good and interesting people

      Cons

      in CLOUD the values are just words (as in many other companies) but Google praises his values which are fake I´m still not sure whether Google is the evil empire subsidy mentality in CLOUD - due to the missing need to make add. profit effectiveness is very low very bureaucratic 20% bad people (more than I ever saw in other companies) in CLOUD which are completely selfish and judge everything on the benefit for the own career

      Cons

      - a lot of legacy code, about 50% of efforts is updating it - it's hard to be promoted when all employees are so great
