Pros

Google as a company has a great reputation, the products are innovative and often very fast improving. The colleagues are also the best colleagues I ever had - highly motivated, helpful and normally very clever.

Cons

Compensation is absolutely not competitive, even if you do a great job career opportunities are very limited because Google prefer to hire senior people from external.

Pros

Great perks, good colleagues, many job opportunities (even without going into a management role), very competitive payment

Cons

Few, and very minor compared to any other company I worked for. Several of the really good job opportunities require moving to other locations (the US mostly)

Pros

The pay is above average and very comfortable, including a bonus paid in cash and shares. The benefits are great, including food for all meals. Professionally there is room to grow, and you're surrounded by smart people who inspire you.

Cons

It can be tough to turn yourself off from work sometimes. I found myself pushing myself always to achieve a lot, and I had to figure out how to establish boundaries. If you can do this, it is fine, but you need to manage it yourself.
