So many to name. For such a huge global corporation, the Architects for Fluor are an afterthought. Software and hardware to do the job architects do has to specially requested and approved for tools that are INDUSTRY STANDARD. Houston Architecture department is not really a true architecture group, too many inexperienced “leaders” who have never stepped foot in a true architecture firm, nor are willing to learn and design their group as a truly functioning technical or design group. There is so much red tape at this corporation, it is hard to make any suggestions that will be heard even though there are many “initiatives” for diversity, inclusion, ethical practices, mental health; you name it they are “promoting” it but it is not the reality once you get in. This is not a place for a creative architect, nor am architect that wants to grow their career. If you want to sit and draft, have requests for unreasonable deadlines driven by engineering project managers that have no clue about the process of architecture, do come here. The pay is decent, but not worth selling your soul for, if you like to stay in line and never question, nor get mentoring, nor develop as an architect come here. The majority of yhe engineers stick their noses up at “the architects” and refer to them as drafters as if the architects have no talent or expertise. There are a lot of smoke and mirrors here. Watch out. 10/10 do not recommend.
