Pros

I've worked for a lot of companies, but DocuSign is the first place that I've felt like they actually WANT people to stay here for a long time. They aren't trying to burn you out and then toss you aside like many tech startups. There is a proven track-record of promoting from within, investing in employees (For example - just started a masters level leadership program through the University of Washington as a free benefit to leaders within the company). Leadership is thoughtful, caring, and respectful of their employees and truly committed to seeing them succeed, and not only succeed, but be happy and fulfilled. The pay is fair and they do what they can to add perks throughout the quarter, but they're not throwing money into stupid things like bean bags and razor scooters just to make it seem like this is a cool place to work. It's just a good place to work and people want to come and give their best. Plus, it's a pre-IPO company that is poised to have a great public launch.

Cons

There is getting to be a bit more corporate feel (more levels of approval to get a deal done). Comes with the territory as a company gets bigger and more successful, but it does slow things down a bit.

Pros

- Amazing market opportunity. eSignatures are inevitable. This is the future of signing documents, coming to agreement, etc - Strong market lead. Solving eSignature problems around the world - legality, compliance, local cultural preference etc - is not easy. We are making the investments to stay ahead of the smaller players - Experienced management team. Our leaders have created and run successful public companies before. No first-timers here.

Cons

- Commoditization. We are working day and night to avoid being perceived as a Feature (versus being a Platform / Product). So far we are doing a great job - Competition. The market is hot, so competition is fierce (and growing). That's largely a positive, but we need to continue selling value to fend off the low-end market pressure we get from vendors giving away low-value eSignature offerings at low prices. This is a solve-able problem. - Change. Growing a company at this pace, with this type of unique product offering (Consumer, Enterprise, Global, etc), is tricky. Getting the right people in at the right time is a very nuanced exercise. We have had leadership changes - positive ones - but they still take time to process and adjust to. The current leadership team is settling in and doing a great job.

Pros

- The people working here are very talented, and really good at what they do. Everyone possesses the right type of energy, and is excited about coming to work. - Stable company with a revenue-flow. This company definitely feels young and exciting (characteristics you would apply to start-ups) but actually has a good product that has a huge customer base. DocuSign is industry leading and setting the standard in the E-Signature world. - Electronic desks that can move up and down. Awesome all-around for your health and alertness - Location of the office. Whether you are in Seattle, or SF, the location is pretty hard to beat. And the View in SF of the bay bridge is just breath-taking.

Cons

- Not sure why the company is cheap on the food catering. Lunch is only catered twice a week for the Product team. Why not every day, like other big reputable companies?

Thanks for the review. Food, glorious food. Trust you are chatting with Robin, Ron and team about that. In the meantime, mind if we set up a meeting over lunch one day when it is catered? I hear that you can bring guests and the food does look yummy. ;-)
