Pros

Continental is an outstanding employer in many aspects - a down-to-earth work culture, strong values, poised leadership, and in the midst of an exciting transformation.

Cons

As most German manufacturing companies, Continental is very data-driven and risk-averse, making transformation and change processes more challenging than they need to be.

Pros

In general good working conditions, a relaxed environment for many employees..flexible working time, with opportunity to take several days off, using gathered overtime

Cons

Not easy to be motivated, people do not like to follow the process, people don't always work as a team. No professional development plan for employees. They have to search, pursue and plan opportunities themselves mostly

Pros

Conti is a good company that respects an employees ideas(your idea will be discussed and considered but must be clearly useful before implemented). Training is available if you want it. Working hours are controlled and management is fairly transparent. They have tolerated me working on a side project for 2 years as long as I keep up on my normal work (R&D engineer).

Cons

You are treated better at Central in Hannover than in the plants / satellite R&D. Company is slow to change and fairly rigid in their process. I think it is at a ok balance to allow stability, but I would find it more fun when we could try more ideas / take risks. Sexism exists and is more than I was used to, but this is compared to temp work for the US forest service (highly focused on being politically correct) and American public university.
