Pros

Big German Company stable as possible in these times. Tou Stay as long as you want . Pay and benifits are good and compatable with other tier 1 suppliers. You are respected at the big three when they know your with Conti.

Cons

Big German Company . Their way or the high way. Germasn side comes first and is always right. You need to go along with them since they run the show to fight back will have you in a dead end job or out the door if they desire. Plants in Mexico hard to work with they do not whant to do it right, they do not understand quality .

Pros

Varied and challenging work, technology driver, exciting products. The company is a truly global company having operations and R&D in most areas. Of course it is a German company so very organised and detailed which can sometimes get in the way given that procedures have to be followed. Opportunities exist for bright stars, company recognises stars and develops them accordingly. Annual performance reviews are designed to advance the employee and identify successors. Company has dealt with the economic downturn with respect and trying not to have to lose employees. Systems are very good throughout the company, workers very talented and motivated.

Cons

Automotive industry declines have resulted in lower orders resulting in reduced income resulting in tight budgets etc etc etc Headcount hold is a challenge with the new products that are being developed. There are in my opinion too many people on visa's, sometimes Germans are moved here for jobs that do not specifically call for a visa holder and could be done by a local. This is a German company and sometimes they are german centric, Lotus Notes - argh this is a junk email system but Continental are joined at the hip to it. Best thing they could do would be to go back to Microsoft Outlook
