Pros

Varied and challenging work, technology driver, exciting products. The company is a truly global company having operations and R&D in most areas. Of course it is a German company so very organised and detailed which can sometimes get in the way given that procedures have to be followed. Opportunities exist for bright stars, company recognises stars and develops them accordingly. Annual performance reviews are designed to advance the employee and identify successors. Company has dealt with the economic downturn with respect and trying not to have to lose employees. Systems are very good throughout the company, workers very talented and motivated.

Cons

Automotive industry declines have resulted in lower orders resulting in reduced income resulting in tight budgets etc etc etc Headcount hold is a challenge with the new products that are being developed. There are in my opinion too many people on visa's, sometimes Germans are moved here for jobs that do not specifically call for a visa holder and could be done by a local. This is a German company and sometimes they are german centric, Lotus Notes - argh this is a junk email system but Continental are joined at the hip to it. Best thing they could do would be to go back to Microsoft Outlook

Pros

Great work life balance and culture. If you want to work at a place that will provide a low stress, flexible position with amazing people, this place is no doubt one of the best in that area.

Cons

Pay is low compared to other companies in the area and the cost of living in the area is high. They seem to be outsourcing jobs to cut costs, so job security is not the best right now.
