Pros

- good training, great starting salary, a lot of freedom, nice colleagues, some outstanding and easy-to-approach-to managers, interesting projects if one has the chance to be successfully placed onto one

Cons

- heavy workload, normal working hours (8am to 6pm) are often not considered and manager reserves the right to contact employees out of hours and during holidays, depending on manager: often not interested in one's skills or ideas but just in one's contribution to the manager's own project, takes a long time to be placed on a project so majority of the time is spent doing small tasks that do not provide many learning opportunities (e.g. adjusting PPT slides)

Dear former employee, Thank you for your feedback. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your time with us. We are aware that overtime can unfortunately occur in the daily work of a consultant. Of course, we regularly encourage our managers to keep an eye on the working hours of their employees. Did you talk about your dissatisfaction with your lead? Only through a constant feedback culture it is possible to find solutions. We wish you all the best for your future. Your Capgemini Invent HR Recruiting and Marketing Team

Pros

Team composition, event parties, company car policy and other corporate benefits. Compared to other large consulting firms not “stiffy” and focusing on collaboration.

Cons

Company became too large to appreciate diversity. Currently in some units no woman in leadership (team lead) position. Company values followers and likeminded instead of diversity and pushing outside the comfort zone. HR department composed of working students and lacking professionalism such as having candidates waiting for weeks to invite for an interview. Also viewed rather as admin staff compared to hr as a sparring partner for hiring talent.

Dear colleague, thank you for sharing your honest feedback! Nice to hear that you enjoy our focus on collaboration and working with our team - great to have you on board! :) Also, thanks for sharing your concerns. Please not that we're continuously working on creating an even greater place to work - if possible, we'd therefore like to ask you to reach out to your local HR team via the usual channels to discuss your thoughts further. That would help us a lot. Thanks in advance!

Pros

A transparent interview process in terms of feedback. The company is trying to adapt its offering to the trends of digitisation. There is evidence of performance evaluation based on honest peer reviews. Some colleagues are friendly and approachable.

Cons

The reality of day-to-day work is a far cry from what is sold to you in the application process. In many projects you are supporting the digital transformation of companies not as an agent of innovation but as an outsourced human resource. The real innovation tends to comes from the client. The reason the client hires Capgemini is to push their decision through in the company (due to highly complex organisational politics) or because the client lacks executional resources. Even though there is pressure from the market to show initiatives for work-life balance, the high fees and tight deadlines mean that you must show total flexibility to client wishes. There can be no real discussion about work-life balance under these circumstances. Graduates get no "individual" training. The Institute in Berlin functions as a backoffice and research support for understaffed projects (due to high client fees). You have no say about which projects you'll be working on. You'll be staffed whatever client pays for. Don't be surprised if you'll be sold as expert on a particular topic, citing past projects that never happened. The pressure to sell new projects at all cost is very high, so the managers have no choice.

Dear former employee, thank you for taking the time to do a honest evaluation. The opinion of our employees is very important to us. Therefore we are particularly pleased to hear that you perceived the feedback process as transparent and your colleagues as friendly! We are very sorry that you still experienced your time at Capgemini Invent as disappointing. Did you talk about your dissatisfaction at work with your lead? Unfortunately, we cannot fully understand all parts of your feedback. We would therefore be pleased if you could describe your experiences more concretely in a personal conversation. Please contact your personal HR contact person. If you do not know your personal HR contact, you can also contact us via recruiting.de@capgemini.com We wish you all the best for your future path!
