Pros

Good package offer and benefits Lots of socials and events

Cons

- A good consultancy does not let you feel like a pawn in their game, Invent does not do that. Senior management are ineffective and do not have the best interest of their staff, just what they need to do to get their next promotion - Employees are often expected to backfill their own roles if they roll off a project, despite the fact that it isn’t stipulated in the contract - Rotation off projects is rare and, at that, sometimes frowned upon if you want to come off earlier than expected - Lots of pressure on junior staff to go into management rolls without giving them proper training (like line management training) - You feel like resource, not a person and there will always be the two main accounts competing for you - There is no support when things go wrong on project - Management who are in ‘people’ roles almost all have a reputation of being ‘a bit tricky’, but despite this, they’re still supposedly looking after staff and have seniority - Far too many people in senior positions who have been there for too long and will not adapt their methods - Not inclusive of the mental health needs of their employees - If something goes wrong on your account, know that they will save the account and lie/withhold from the client before they help you - Manipulation into going into certain roles because it will “advance your career” (even if it isn’t what you want) - “Rumour” culture and backstabbing clique groups. If you want to get anywhere, you have to befriend those groups but watch out for the rumour mill you’ll get pulled in to. I have never experienced a corporate culture that gossips as much as Invent seems to. Ultimately, CapGemini, and therefore Invent, is too big for its own good, promoting people too quickly and losing a lot of staff due to incompetent leadership, management and not providing support for staff. Do not be swayed by the big package - it’s not worth it.

Pros

Fantastic culture, great opportunities to develop, interesting work. People are genuinely lovely and care about their work and clients.

Cons

Company has grown quickly over the past 12 months and in some areas is slightly top heavy so may take longer to progress. Maternity leave could do with a review as it’s 18 weeks full pay then SMP
