Pros

- Nothing unique - Wages are reasonable - Global company so worldwide opportunities exist by default

Cons

- A careless board unwilling to admit their mistakes and failings - "Talk the talk" but don't and cant deliver what they say they do. They are slaves to utilisation like every company in consulting. That's fine, we get it. Don't pretend to care. - "Arcadis way" One way of working? This is good because....... I guess it will make it easier when the people are replaced by robots if they are already acting like robots. - The worst HR teams and delivery I have ever experienced - Incompetent, overpaid leadership - Consistently poor financial performance. Inability to deliver to shareholders and market

Pros

Excellent benefits , flexible work environment for those with young families , opportunity to work globally, diverse client base, strong safety culture

Cons

Where to begin ...... continued downslide in moral and company performance due to tone-deaf management trying to apply management consulting practices to a professional services organization . En masse departure of top experienced talent continues unabated without anyone being replaced. Operational paralysis continues due to revolving door of marginal leaders put in positions not suited to their skill set or the level of maturity or business acumen required for such positions . Inwardly focused technical group leadership focused on internal politics, self promotion , and assuaging massive egos while talented and intelligent staff observe these poor behaviors .Constant yet ineffective messaging to staff not supported by reality , essentially placing staff in the awkward postition of having to justify the ongoing turmoil to the clients they serve . Quite an embarassment watching a once venerable Firm continue to implode in such a manner .

Pros

I loved my job and felt good about this company when I first started (2012). There were good people to work with, lots of forward momentum and not a ton of entitlement. We were on a path to do good things. What a difference a new CEO and COO can make . . .

Cons

I'm actually surprised this company still exists. The new management started down a road and did not communicate 1. the changes they wanted to make; 2. the reason they wanted to make these changes and 3. how they were going to make the changes as painless as possible. So no one really knew what was going on until the change was already upon them - no change management or preparation for anyone. It was very difficult to live through this. And in the meantime, the good people were being asked to leave or just leaving on their own unhappily. They brought in people from Europe who had NO IDEA how business in the US works, yet they wanted to follow their structure. No questions asked. No discussion allowed.
