excellent reputation but that is dwindling fast. cool history. cool technology. once upon a time attracted some top notch executives. excellent products. that's about it

Cons

Multiple layers of useless management. No opportunity for growth with team or outside department. Arrogance when it comes to traction/leverage within the industry.

Pros

VMware has a history of having a great product. The technology is complex and works well.

Cons

Everyone of my managers, from first line, to CEO (with one exception) has changed over the last year. The new management team is too focused IMO on schedule at the expense of quality. Another consequence is that people are being pushed really hard these days. A co-worker recently called VMware a "sweat shop". I couldn't disagree.

Don't be fooled by the importance of a female CEO. Women do not fair better here than anywhere else. HR is a joke. The company appears shiny on the outside but rotten on the inside. Don't be fooled by stock or paid for "greatest places to work" postings. This is the most poorly managed company that i have ever worked.
