      Run Away While You Can

      Pros

      Smart People, Great Technology, Interesting Projects, Peers and subordinates tend to be pleasant and easy to get along with, when they are not too scared to make a significant decision.

      Cons

      Management tends to lead through fear, intimidation, information hoarding, and duplicity. Can't count the number of meetings I attended where senior leaders made decisions based on the notion that employees were "too scared of the economy to care about abusive policies."

      Pros

      One of the first IT companies, provides a wide array of work experience and exposure to generations of equipment and work practices.

      Cons

      Carries the baggage of being an archaic service provider. Difficult to introduce change. Too many silos and independent fiefdoms within company.

      Pros

      can be a flexible work environment. Easy to manipulate technology if you're in IT. Most of your fellow coworkers are good people.

      Cons

      Local senior management does not disclose information to employees. Unisys is a reactive instead of proactive environment, requiring people to work weekends/nights/holidays and then not compensate for time. NO raises for two years, yet responsibilities continue to mount up.
