Solid company, good benefits, with overstretching HR

The company has excellent technical leadership and solid direction. Good benefits, profit sharing is solid, and the workload is manageable.

Cons

Human Resources. Many in HR are incompetent yet they hide behind the doors. Always changes to make themselves appear to have added value. They try to appear to run the company when those making the money really are the ones calling the shots and making things happen. Very little room for difference of opinion in HR as diversity is frowned up. Typical big company environment where a lot of non production type roles hide.

Good work/life balance. Fairly competitive comp & benefits. Steady growth and continuous business results in the industry.

Cons

Highly perception driven culture in HR, not performance. Unrealistic expectations of new people (NCGs and exp hires) to look, sound, and act just like the people who have been there for 15+ years. Poor HR people managers given interns and HR NCGs and don't know how to coach or develop talent. Lack of trust in HR community.
