Pros

I enjoy the team of people that I work with! And for retail, having every other weekend off is nice.

Cons

Outrageous workload with minimal resources to complete the work. The company standard is one set of numbers and even if you meet those expectations it still isn't good enough. Last year I exceeded all company metrics significantly and received a review of only effective. This company used to care about a team member's work life balance...not anymore! I am required to work 50 hours but have to put in at least 60-70 hours easily per week to get the job done. UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS for the Salesfloor/Guest Experience role...when you walk in the front door at a Target store, EVERYTHING you can SEE is the responsibility for the Salesfloor/GE Executive Team Leader. And it has proven very hard to achieve a reasonably sized bonus based on the companies hardships.

Pros

Challenging work in a fast-paced, youthful, work environment. The retail industry changes quickly which makes the job fun and challenging but can also create a lot of instability; particularly right now.

Cons

Often hard to get things done; over-collaborative. With sales flagging, high focus on expense reduction making work generally less fun and creating some risk of job loss via reductions. Also, pay for performance is a misnomer.
