Pros

Depending on your team, the atmosphere can be great and they can genuinely become great friends. Again, depending on your manager (and how TUI orientated they are), you can have a great working relationship and they can be very supportive of you and your development. In that sense, your team can be a massive Pro!!!! Concession values. Incentive vouchers/points (monetary commission isn’t great but vouchers and points soon add up), training systems available offer points (such as RIU, P&O) and these are a great way to boost knowledge and get some rewards for it. Eye test costs (up to a certain limit) are paid back to you on proof of purchase, as well as a certain amount towards glasses if needed.

Cons

You are just a number- they don’t care about you or your situation. It’s a case of ‘if your face fits’. Feels very unsupportive at times (personal experience is aimed at higher management/HR) The people at head office or in senior positions within the company are VERY out of touch with retail, they don’t understand what is dealt with in the stores Every day. Lots of different elements within your role (pre-travel, after travel, complaints, sales etc) but the pay isn’t reflective of this. Low pay for the amount of work expected. Some members of Senior management can be bullies, they will do whatever they can to get you out and can make your life very difficult if they take a dislike to someone. Not the simplest of sales processes (many systems for a simple quote, lots of things you must remember to say/try to sell) Little work/life balance. After work meetings, getting out late, no lunch breaks if working on 2 staff (which also means you can’t leave the store even though you aren’t paid for lunch breaks), you can be expected to change days off if outside of 2 weeks once Rota has been given (within 2 weeks you can refuse). Flexible contracts are a nightmare, you could be contracted 20 hours per week but work 30 one week to work 10 the next, it can get very out of hand on the hours owed to you if short staffed.

Pros

Always putting the customer in the centre of everything we do. Always innovating our service and product offering.

Cons

If they decide to restructure little thought is spared about the experienced staff.
