Pros

The employees you work with are friendly and that makes for a good work environment.

Cons

It should be stated before you're even officially hired and accept the job what would be required of you. I was hired as a cashier but even when I went on my break, I was obligated to walk around the store cleaning up items off the floor, looking for empty packages or tags torn off of merchandise that people had stolen, picking up clothing that might've fallen off the hanger, checking the bathrooms and cleaning them if they weren't clean. The company wasn't short staffed but why are cashiers suppose to do everyone's work for them, when they are going on their break? Cashiers did the most work in the store and to think (and was not told differently) I was just getting hired to greet customers when they're ready to purchase their items, scan and bag their purchases..... it was ridiculous. Being paid minimum wage to do multiple jobs and have so many responsibilities was not what was explained to me before being trained and I left so I wouldn't end up hating a company I enjoyed shopping at.

Pros

getting to view the merchandise before it went out on the floor, friendly coworkers

Cons

Management had no respect for sale associates who were not going to spend the rest of their lives working there. They tried to tell me that going to college was a stupid idea. Would play favorites. People that shop there for the most part are cheap and horrible. No good inventory system.

Pros

My co-workers and favorite returning customers are the true perks of working there.

Cons

Management seems to think we are robots and can push us past our limitations. Days are not necessarily long (depending on the shift), but in those hours there is always a ton to do and seemingly never enough time to get it all done. Easy to feel unappreciated. Customers can be so rude and extremely messy. Asking for time off or a change in availability can sometimes be a hassle. Pay is not nearly enough considering my personal length of service of 11 years.
