Pros

TJ MAXX prides itself on bringing merchandise to customers at discounted prices, and they are usually able to deliver. This and the easily understand returns policy keeps most customers happy, and makes the jobs of the sales associate much more pleasant.

Cons

The large variety of merchandise in the stores makes it somewhat difficult to keep track of products, as well as difficult for the stores to maintain a neat appearance. Turnover is high, as is most of retail & other positions that employ younger workers. Wages are low (usually on par with the current minimum wage) which can be frustrating. They are low to start but seeing an employee that does not take pride in their job and does not put forth much effort being paid the same wage as an "good" employee is upsetting.

Pros

-it's a job -other employees are nice, probably because we mutually bonded over how awful it was

Cons

-Schedule comes out weekly, often isn't up until Friday or Saturday evenings (Schedule starts on Sunday) -Not flexible with employees -I got a .50 raise in three years of working. And that's it. -The schedules are not set. They say no one would work twice in the same weekend, but they consider Saturday and Sunday different weekends. I quit because they wouldn't give me a set schedule. -They push the TJ Maxx credit cards on customers. You get yelled at if you don't get an application a day.(The cards have terribly interest rates) -Very little room for promotion unless you're over 40

Pros

Heath insurance great. Good people and teamwork.

Cons

Hours are tough. Always working one level above your position. So basically underpaid for the work you are doing. You work hard for your money.
