Pros

Flexible Schedule. Co-workers were either there for +10 years (some for +18, 20) or students just looking for a part-time job. Good balance. People are lovely and supportive. Low management (As in team leaders, assistant manager and store manager) are also supportive and flexible. They will teach you everything, *if you ask*. Their business model works and it's quite appreciated by the customers.

Cons

Besides some very specific issues with my maternity leave (they completely cut out from any company access and the payslip never matches to what it should be) , I didn't had any other major issues with the company. HOWEVER, I noticed quite a lot. The company's core is absolutely rubbish. From payslips (which are always a mess and hard to follow), from only offering small hours, always being understaffed and overworked, to unrealistic expectations, etc. The hours that each store is allowed to distribute across employees, (normal time and overtime) are worked from how much money we did the week before. So, if we don't make a lot of money one week, the next one we're understaffed! I was even made to use my holiday (without my knowledge or consent) because of this. Upper management (not line management) comes in every week to change the store, sometimes in the same way that was 1 month before (it is understandable during special events and busy seasons, but that's often not the case. We have a Loss prevention person who only is in the store twice a week, during the week on quiet days. During the weekend, for instance, when people steal the most, we have to be the ones stopping it, which is not safe. They do, however, teach you how to do it most safely, and teamwork is very important, but the company has the resources to make sure we always have someone in charge of that. Many (amazing) staff discouraged. Store can get very messy and sometimes we're the only one on the floor!

Pros

Some of the colleagues were friendly

Cons

The managers were all horrible, childish and had no care for the workers. Being unflexible and demanding unachievable deadlines, would recommend working anywhere else in retail.
