Pros
All of the associates are lovely and friendly and very helpful when you are new. The team leaders in my store were lovely as well, and very good at their jobs. The pay (7.60 an hour) is excellent for retail. The charity fundraising events are a wonderful asset to the company.
Cons
The management is very very badly organised; the weekly rota would never be up until a Friday; making it impossible to plan your next week ahead. The managers 'look down' on the associates, and definitely make you feel a the bottom of the ladder. I was never handed my payslips, or given a name badge until months after I was supposed to have recieved them. Additionally, there is minimal job training. You are pretty much 'thrown into the deep end' and expected to knw everything and be able to cope with what you have been told to do with little help and experience from the management; they expect you to know everything without having taught you. Furthermore, I have only recently (after 4 months of being there) been told about the BSP and the folder which it is kept in that we are expected to read; it seems to me lke this is our only real form of official training.
