Pros

Not many pros. The benefits are okay... pay is also okay. You can not hire and expect to keep the talent if your team is horrible.

Cons

Too many. Old and slow working environment with to many processes in place that no one follows and if we do follow filled with so many issues. Boring work. No team cohesion. Finger pointing and blame others. Throw stuff over the wall. Horrible communication from larger off-shore teams. Lack of visions and common goals for QA department that are not aligned everyone has a different idea. They "encourage discussion on improvement" but sadly it is shut down because Lead knows everything . Interviewed for skills and experience not matching the actual job role given. Not learning anything new on the job. If new things are built by me they are questioned and made fun of instead of constructive feedback. I just don't like the place. Fake people, talk behind others back, insult others in front of others. I wonder what they talk about me behind my back. Don't care. Ask in detail questions to the team that will interview you. Poke them with questions on how they work? What is your branching process? What is your delivery process? What tools are you actually using? How is team communication? What is the QA maturity level? etc. My time is up and ready to leave and nothing will want me to stay here. Some will like to work here because it is their dream company...lol and in their culture to be like this. Software AG states we know how to build software but they don't sadly.

Pros

The people! Some of the best

Cons

The Americas team is left out of the mix when it comes to most everything new or exciting. It's almost like an afterthought. The strategy is to turn Senior leadership turns over every 18 months and hope for change, but the cycle just starts over again (usually with a previously unsuccessful strategy) Focus on culture. It's not Oracle and those strategies won't work

Pros

Great people to work with. The products are leaders in their respective patches. Talent is recognized, and there are lots of opportunities for growth or lateral development within the company. Many people have been with SAG for 10+ years plus, and a long IT career is very much possible here.

Cons

Some smaller regions, acquired from other brands, are left to their own devices. Money is very much king here. Workload can be too much at times. Internal CPQ systems are badly integrated, although that has started to improve when I left. Biggest drawback and my reason for leaving such a good company: bullying and toxic sales behaviors are tolerated by the company, and demotivates the good employees. Churn of good people is quite high as a result. If you're senior with a large quota, you can get away with anything. HR is not responsive to these kinds of reports, in my experience.
