Pros

RSU's upon joining, although I hear new staff no longer recieve them. Good service desk product.

Cons

To be frank, do NOT join ServiceNow if you: 1. Want a long term career where you move up through the ranks based on merit. 2. Expect a payrise within 3-4 years of tenure. 3. Expect clarity on metrics that clearly outline what you need to do, to be successful and subsequently promoted. The team has a select and small group of so called star performers who by virtue of their relationship with senior management receive benefits and regular promotions. It's sad to see the grafters including myself being regularly overlooked. This is the bulk opinion of a lot of peers. Management do nothing to encourage the more senior guys to assist the new hires during their onboarding. It's very much a them and us culture. Our HR department churns staff like crazy and it's a maze to channel feedback to them.

Good company to work for

Pros

It is good company to work for if you are in a right group and under decent manager. Overall, people you work with are smart and nice to get along with. Company has multiple office locations in US and in different countries. Work/Life balance is good. No set PTO, people take total of 30+ days a year off. WFH is allowed (if your manager is okay with it). ServiceNow product is really good and internally used. Stock are given out and its price is high. Pays bonus every three month.

Cons

Core infrastructure uses old technology. All the new technology tools are not being used. Company itself is a private cloud company so it won't use any public clouds (i.e. Azure, AWS, etc). Therefore, won't use latest technologies that utilize them. There is no DevOPs presence in the company. Pay is average. Perks are average.

Great company but marketing is not a good place to be

Pros

ServiceNow has a great product and there is a loyal and happy customer base. There are new changes at the executive level that seem to be moving things in a positive direction. The focus on culture is especially encouraging. The location is great and there are some really talented and smart people working here. Budgets are sizable and hiring hasn't stopped in the last few years. The facilities are modern and they allow you to bring your dog to work. Most people have a bias for action and want to collaborate and problem solve to get things done.

Cons

Ever since we got a new CMO about a year ago things have been getting progressively worse in marketing. The amount of nit-picking is absurd and you are left wondering who has their eye on the strategic initiatives that will really help move the needle for marketing. It is very easy to burn out and give up due to the amount of micromanagement and constant pressure to do things as quickly as possible with zero regard to work/life balance. As managers, we are told to constantly look outside for better talent to replace our existing employees (this was an actual training!!!). There is a mentality that people are disposable. It is sad to see because the product and company overall are great.
