RSA 2.0

Pros

The change in vision and corporate strategy called RSA 2.0 is what the company needs and it can be successful if management has a realistic plan forthcoming to organize and motivate the employees who care deeply and want to do well. Leadership is saying all the right things.

Cons

The management with the vision has yet communicated how to make it happen beyond -- it is all Kool Aid at this point. Those closest to senior leadership are the biggest part of this problem. Innovation is all talk and no details at the moment. Too much ballast in high salary positions. Not a one has been held accountable for problems in the past. This is a highly political atmosphere with little career growth available without playing big-time politics. The inside sales group is a chirpy bunch in entry level positions, so don't let those reviews speak for the company at large. Mass departures, forced of otherwise, of good people in the past 4 months has been a drain on morale as people fight for survival or look elsewhere.

The company that lost it's mojo

Pros

* Pockets of strong product areas and some really excellent co-workers and mentors * Fairly low pressure and non-demanding environment * Good benefits resulting from RSA being tied to EMC

Cons

RSA, once the quintessential security company somewhere lost its mojo along the way. With forced retirements, layoffs, distractions of acquisitions, spin-offs, reorgs and more product development and execution has taken a back seat to individual employee survival. RSA is a great company where unfortunately many of the go getters upped and got themselves a new job within the EMC federation or elsewhere which left many "tailings" behind combined with new people who have a decent learning curve even under the best of circumstances. Do not expect much support with people fighting for themselves to survive. Though there still is pockets of greatness in the company still, it is getting harder to find them. The next few years will tell if RS can reclaim its venerated security seat it used to have.

Pros

Good support, leave you pretty much to do your job.

Cons

Bonuses are tied to customer surveys. Reach around and bjs s get you them. Just BS and make the customer feel good and you'll get them. TOO MUCH TRAVEL 90% required. Only coach travel and short turnaround times.
