Pros

Well...there are very good colleagues, it is true, but unfortunately the company culture does not encourage healthy relationships between us, on the contrary, it encourages competitiveness and finger-pointing (even in private and "confidentially"). Employer branding team strives to convey to the public an image of fun and excellent work environment that has nothing to do with what is experienced here. Congrats for the very good marketing! And... last but not least, there's always beer in the fridges, in case you still feel like staying smiling and drinking after work.

Cons

1) Decisions you will never make. They make you believe that you are part of the decision making process and your opinion is important and blablabla... but in reality when the "important" meetings are held everything is already chewed up and you just have to say yes. This is really frustrating, as you take the time to research, discuss with the team and in the end the decision was already known before the meeting. Nice! 2) Stress everywhere. No matter which person or which team you ask, they all say the same thing, I feel bad, I don't sleep well, I'm overwhelmed, too much work, too many meetings ..... The company knows this very well and far from helping, the only thing they do is to ask their leaders not to project an image of overload and to be a support for their employees to unburden themselves, at the same time when you do it and comment with your leader that you have stress problems, you automatically become the focus of attention, and they evaluate if you are doing your job as "it should be". 3) Leadership, who dis? Many of the leaders create a great deal of confusion at the interpersonal and intrapersonal level because some are inexperienced in the position or do not have and are not training the necessary skills. I believe that self-management individually and with your peers helps more than having managers who don't know even where the sun rises. At the same time, this is looking more and more like those Silicon Valley stories with leaders multiplying like mushrooms, I think the figure of The Head of Heads is coming, stay tuned! 4)The values of the company are, it is true, written in a very nice document and on many of the walls, but each one uses them when and how it suits then those become meaningless.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Personio hasn’t been what you expected it to be. We always aim to give every Personio the best people experience possible, so your feedback is important for us to continue improving. In the fast-paced tech environment that we’re in, we need to move quickly, and so does our decision-making. This can mean that there is less time for discussion or that plans change more frequently. With that said, communication and transparency are at the core of how we work, and we want to include everyone as best as we can in these processes and ensure that they have a voice. We’re also working on training our leadership – for example in our Great Leaders Do framework – to provide them with the guidance, support, and expertise that they need. We do know that we still have room to improve in all the points that you mentioned, which is why we value your feedback and have communicated it to your People Partners and leadership. If you have any more details you would like to share, or just discuss your experience directly, reach out to me at Cassandra.Hoermann@personio.de.

Pros

Awesome and very talented colleagues, good offices full of snacks and beautiful views, nice benefits

Cons

Where to start... Too much micromanagement, meaningless KPIs, almost unachievable targets (and obviously the problem is not that they are too high and unrealistic, but that you are not good enough and don't know how to do your job). Lack of communication and absolutely no transparency (which happens to be one of their operating principles: "We share all relevant information and communicate the reasons behind our decisions", this is a complete lie and many decisions are taken without communicating the reason behind them). There is no career plan within Personio and there is a lot of external recruitment instead of opting for internal talent. Very clear favoritisms and biased decisions. Depending on who you are and how you get along with management your actions will have different consequences. In a nutshell, avoid Personio, definitely not the best place to work and pursue a career in sales, except if you work for the German market.

As always, we appreciate the opportunity to continue improving our people experience and value your feedback for that.
