      Amazing culture has turned into toxic corporate environment

      Early in the journey, Personio HAD an amazing culture. Great people are still to be had but not sure how long they will stay there. Some changes have been towards a positive future. Maybe they will work things out for the better in a few years...

      Cons

      If you want to work for a creative, innovative scale-up where you make a real impact - steer clear of Personio. I was sold a version of Personio that no longer exists. It has become a corporate environment where leaders micro-manage decision without enough context. When you raise genuine concerns and provide additional context, you are told to be quiet, that you know nothing and to follow orders. There is no data and therefore the highest paid persons opinion is the one listened to. The absolute worst part of this is on top of that, individual contributors are then blamed for poor management decisions that are completely outside of their control. I have never experience a culture like this in my entire career - this is not even typical boring corporate culture - its the worst I have seen. Perhaps in a year or two, Personio will sort this out and will be able to course correct, but if you have the choice don't join now - unless you love corporate politics, watching your own back all day, and high pressure to perform towards unachievable goals outside of your own control - stay away for now.

      Avoid if you want to keep your hopes and dreams

      - It is a company.

      Cons

      Never in my life I have seen something more chaotic and more toxic from the management. - No one will care about you, it's like every single manager has personified the corporate life and all they care about is being able to write down what they did last week so they can have a career. - The company only puts money into what they assume will bring them money in the future and nothing into actually properly maintaining the existing product, hence all the complaints from the users. - Ask anyone and they will tell you "Personio used to have a good culture". That should tell you something. - Constantly changing company direction. - They think hiring random silicon valley leadership, turning the company into next meta will bring success. The toxic American company culture is not going to work when you don't even pay 1/3 of the American salaries. - Words like "impact" and "fast development" don't mean anything when you don't care about your employees' well-being. - After the first minimal bump, don't be surprised if your manager tells you you should find another job sugarcoating it. - The leadership seems to have lost control of the company and a new twisted leadership is emerging. - Personio is at a turning point and it's not towards the better direction.

      An ok company, but not a lot of challenges

      If you have worked on an american-like company, the job is really chill

      Cons

      Not a lot of technical challenges You are not autonomous, and the decisions are made in an hierarchic way There is no such a thing as a system or cloud architect job or role. Everything is decided previously and we are not free to use new technologies and inovate The current evaluation process is a mess, the evaluate you like Meta but they pay you like Personio
