Pros

Personio's growth to date is really impressive, the talent they've been able to hire in offices like Munich are fantastic and just within the team I've taken over - there's so much potential for the future! With a very flat structure and autonomy to execute how best you see fit, you really can be a master of your own destiny here. There's lots of offices in Europe so hiring the right talent isn't limited to geo and the business runs well "remotely". They truly care about you as a person, I would have no concerns reaching out for help or feeling judged if I needed extra support The London office is in a great location and everyone is really friendly, free weekly lunches bring everyone together and there are perks like Gympass

Cons

Growing pains; the business has outgrown many of the people in a lot of ways and Personio is playing catch up on hiring the right management team to give proper direction to tackle the next phase. There's still a lot of "startup" hacks everywhere (google sheets instead of systems, slack for process, lack of direction in areas, decision by democracy at the cost of speed and inexperienced people managers) BUT all of these are being addressed and constantly communicated about so if you're a new hire; just focus on what you can control and leverage the experience of watching a company glow up. This company is definitely going places

Pros

- Amazing colleagues~ they hire really talented reps that make going to the office worth it, can't say the same about management - Salary and benefits are highly competitive, although flex is no longer a thing - Good starting point if you want to dive into tech sales

Cons

I know it's been mentioned in several reviews and they're not doing anything to change it, but micromanagement is a shadow cast upon all sales reps, to the point where I've been to regional meetings where it's been encouraged to post "favourable reviews on Glassdoor to help attract new talent". Thus, they know the negative impact the reviews have but plan to do nothing to fix it other than make up reps experience. However, Dublin's tech sector is really small and people talk. On top of that, managers are full of empty promises and lack any decision making power or clue of what's actually going on. It is widely known across all sales teams that foul play and favouritism are things you have to get used to as a rep - stolen accounts, reps changing billing locations & company names so that they can get deals that belong to other regions, etc. - and no one is getting called out because they sometimes are shielded by their managers, who obviously benefit from making their reps "hit" target. This has profoundly affected the morale across sales because decisions are being made based on fake data (quota achievement, performance). Last but not least, I would like to point out that it's been proudly mentioned by senior management that they only "hire good looking reps because a nice face always sells better". For a company that presents itself as inclusive and woke, it's really alarming to know that they have people in influential positions making these kind of comments, which makes me think that they feel entitled to because, again, they know for a fact that there won't be any consequences.

Hello, Firstly, thank you for investing your time in writing a review. I genuinely value your effort to share your experience, and I am very sorry that you are leaving our company with a negative feeling. At Personio, our top priority is to foster a culture of transparency and inclusivity where every individual is an integral part of our team, feels supported and welcomed, and is empowered to excel in their work. As you’ll be aware from your time with us, we continually ask our Personios to provide us with authentic feedback, in all departments and on all levels. We do this across a variety of channels, like anonymous engagement surveys, Menti questions, AMA sessions, exit interviews, as well as Glassdoor reviews. We then take this feedback, focus on the common and high-priority themes, and use those to inform our next steps and actions. This is the first time some of these points have come up in any of our listening efforts, and I take them very seriously. I will personally check in on these topics to understand what’s happening. Thank you again for highlighting this feedback, and would appreciate having an open conversation with you to learn more about your experiences, and your thoughts on how we can improve our Sales culture at Personio. Please feel free to reach out to me directly or get in touch with our GTM People Partner. Thank you, Geraldine, Chief Revenue Officer

Pros

Great colleagues, generally good atmosphere at the office.

Cons

Unrealistic KPI's and targets. Not much freedom and the promised flex is non-existent. Toxicity and favoritism are present too. Sad to see an initially amazing workplace go downhill so rapidly.

Hi, I’m happy to hear that you enjoy your coworkers and the office vibe, but disappointed that not all of your experience was a good one. As a leadership team, we regularly review targets – and training – to ensure our teams are set up for success. We’re also making sure to provide multiple avenues for our employees to provide feedback, including multiple anonymous surveys and anonymous questions for AMAs. Along with this, we’ve already implemented consistent, clear, and transparent frameworks for performance assessment and promotions within the team. I’d welcome the opportunity to continue this conversation so that I can learn more about your experience and how we can improve. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at samatha.ledger@personio.de if you’re interested. Thank you, Sam, Director of Sales - Northern Europe
