Pros

Front line employees are ok. Time off par for the course.

Cons

Benefits keep getting worse. Racism and sexism run rampant. True story: a Hispanic fellow, when going to lunch, was asked by another worker where his badge was. This other worker then got very angry at the Hispanic worker, almost like he thought he didn't belong there. When the Hispanic worker came back to work and relayed this story to coworkers, he was told by another, old white male coworker, that he should go to lunch with him next time as his gardener. Really. True story. And the guy that made the gardener remark is a management favorite. Really.

Pros

People are good to work with

Cons

They have a history of letting go people over 50 and replacing them with younger cheaper labor.

Pros

Great opportunities for personal advancement Flexibility in work schedules Top workstation technology and software Very close to where I lived

Cons

Compared to Cellular Sectors (Mobile or Infrastructure), Solutions was like going back in time by about 25 years We kiddingly referred to Solutions as "That 70's Show" If you weren't one of the Good Old Boys, your future was very limited If you were part of the Traditional Retirement Plan in the early 2000's, there was no way you could make it to the last 3 years where the "meat" of your finding existed. I know of no one who made it past age 61 - you were targeted for layoffs or poor reviews. Speaking of reviews, Solutions used a review system where your value was established by personnel who didn't even know you. Motorola stopped pursuing patent applications in the early 2000's - really stupid going from #2 to nothing The CEO can only retain his value by continually selling off as much of the company as he can
