Pros

Flexi-time, unlimited overtime (if you're good), opportunities, interesting products, world first engineering trials

Cons

pay (of course), easy to disappear in the crowd if you're quiet. Very frustratingly slow progress on some projects - partially due to the MoD but also a disbelief that MBDA is effectively run by the government and an insistence on pretending to be a independent business venture. Lack of cohesive technical strategic direction in the mid to upper levels of management.

Pros

MBDA makes excellent products. It has a great depth of technical expertise and experience, but most of this is in the heads of its technical employees. The pay and benefits are reasonable for a defence company. It is doing well financially. Employees are generally well-treated, and there really is not a 'blame culture'. The turnover rate is low, and many people have been there for twenty or thirty years.

Cons

Many people have been there for twenty or thirty years ... and many are set in their ways. Organisationally, MBDA is overly complex and full of stove pipes. Middle management is mostly overhead. Opportunities for career progression are limited.

Pros

Pay is ok. Lots of of good people to work with Lots of good talk about how things are going to be done...

Cons

... however it never gets done that way. Management come up with plans that have no bearing on reality. People are viewed as resource and thrown at a problem, regardless of whether they have the skills or capabilities. No comeback for people who perform extremely poorly. Results in a small number of people doing most of the work for the rest of the coasters. Very poor at rewarding these high achievers. Most people are pointless documents pushers who are more interested in finding reasons not to do something
