Pros

Flexible PTO; decent training opportunities; salaries are competitive; There are lots of locations throughout northern VA, MD, DC, and the country.

Cons

There are not a lot of opportunities for people who do not already posess a security clearance. Too big, too many layers of management. Too much emphasis on Diversit and Inclusion and not enough on winning new work. Senior management handcuffs business units from going after anything but the biggest pieces of work with high ROS. Too much focus on stock price and not enogh on customer satisfaction.

Pros

In a tough economy, it's a job. There are no other pros to working for Lockheed Martin or one of it's subsidiaries.

Cons

I've worked for LM for over 13 years and have noticed several problems with management. They have a natural deficiency of moral fiber. They talk about integrity, ethics, community, and diversity, but yet they display none of these. Employees are of no value to the company. When times are tough, the talk of "family" means nothing. The company has no backbone and will not stand up for it's employees during disputes. It prefers instead to fire the employee to placate the customer instead of performing a proper investigation. If the things that management pulls on it's employees are not illegal, they are definitely shady - reduction in entitlements for home owners, refusal to pay moving costs for overseas employees retiring overseas even though though it's cheaper than moving them back to the US. Management refuses to communicate with employees. The managers of subcontractors can communicate things, good and bad, with it's employees, but LM prefers to let it's employees find things out through the grapevine, or . The benefits are no better than any other company. New employees no longer collect retirement. Returing employees will not accumulate any more time.
