Pros

Was OK as entry level with some opportunities to take on challenging work although often work senior employees were too busy or too lazy to accomplish

Cons

Unless you have skill/education/experience that is truly portable across industries, the name looks good on a resume but may be hard to trade on when moving on. In other words, you may find yourself stuck in the aero/defense environment. Not good when Fed budget flatlines or goes down which it will over the next several years.

Pros

The pay rate is good. The products you are working on are cool and usually important to the national defense.

Cons

Work / Life balance is a joke. Lots of "old dogs" coasting towards retirement jealously guarding their small little patch of knowledge / authority. Your job is subject to whim of politics
