Pros

Excellent challenges. If it served the illusions that Management thinks it pursues, then it is fine, but for overall scope, not good.

Cons

Draconian at this location LRAFB. Self-Serving Level 5 Managers. HR very self-serving. I think it is just the MST Division. For me, a 'working Manager' there was no work - life balance. All work to save the place with 8 year old equipment that no one had the insight to replace before I arrived. My predecessor was terribly under-educated in an experience sense and was allowed to do whatever he wanted, though he didn't know much. Fixing it fell on my shoulders as an incumbent. With terribly low wages and a very counter-productive HR. No support for non-union Managers.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Brilliant talent.

Cons

Poor Career Development and advancement in this department, will force advanced staff members to train junior staff members only to lay them off to save money, "to be more affordable", but in the end they spend more money because the new members have a huge learning curve. The yearly layoffs in the name of "affordability" are a real moral killer.
