Pros

Ok salary and benefits ... Respected company and employer in Europe but not yet (by a mile) in the U.S.

Cons

I have worked with a number of multinational companies and compared to my previous experiences, Lidl US is the rock-bottom, however it seems the inexperienced employees there don’t know anything better. The company has a lot of room for improvement with internal communication, job descriptions, process flows, recruitment process and most importantly, ensuring the employees live the company values (in my department discriminating, bullying and other unprofessional behavior was present and accepted). This company is a total disgrace to Schwarz Group.

Pros

10% discount BBQ parties Honestly they don't even offer that many benefits in comparison to other companies based in London.

Cons

It's absolutely a horrible department to work for. Constant work place bullying and constant expectation to do overtime without extra pay! The work life balance is non-existent. The contracts team is the worst of them all! This company doesn't realise how overworked their employees are. There is no room for progression! If you are thinking about applying for this position, DON'T.

Pros

There aren’t any. I could say pay, but with the amount of hours given week to week, you could easily get a job that pays less but has better hours and make more. I’m part time so I don’t have any benefits, but dental and vision are offered for part time employees. Pay is often times incorrect. You’ll have to constantly check your hours because there is likely to be something wrong.

Cons

Inconsistent hours week to week. Will cut hours without an explanation. Unorganized. Associates are doing the work of supervisors. Promises of promotion with no follow through. Unrealistic expectations: you’ll be scheduled a four hour shift with two breaks and they expect you to work the entire store while stopping you mid way through a task to get on the register because there are not enough cashiers. They won’t listen to any ideas about doing things easier because “it’s the Lidl way.” Most of the supervisors have a superiority complex so they feel as though you are beneath them and they can talk to you any kind of way.
