Pros

Fast growth, a lot of new opportunities on a global scale.

Cons

The executive ranks are filled with 'lifers' who know relatively little about what their team should be doing. Many a times after the annual executive shuffling in the winter, some teams and their staff are adrift for months, not sure about what they should do. On the other hand, sometimes things happen too fast without clear direction. There still are arcane, nonsensical policies that need to be cleaned out. Performance reviews and evaluations will need to improve. Glass ceilings between Korean employees and the 'locally hired' employees should be abolished ASAP!

Pros

Good benefits and salary -- full medical, dental, 401K, etc., and salary is in the middle range for industry (not too low, but not the very top). The products are innovative and cutting edge -- exciting to be involved with.

Cons

There was a general lack of willingness to stand behind product quality from senior management. When customers came back with repairs or broken products, especially older (no longer made) models, senior management gave them a sorry/oh well! response. This was incredibly discouraging and really came off to customers as an overall lack of strong customer service and understanding of the rather important American value of standing behind the quality of one's product. It seemed the very high/senior management (especially Korean) didn't grasp this concept fully and just how important it is to the American consumer. Likewise, the American ideal of "I want it now" was also squashed when it tooks months and months to produce products in a timely and needed manner. There was certainly a problem with proper management at forecasting product need at the mid-management level (apparently due to pressure from top management not to over-order).

Pros

To form a stronger career path in electronic business. This is important in Korea because there are not many big names in Electronics business. Working together with talented colleagues is also a good benefit.

Cons

Had a hard time to understand employer's attitude toward employees. Working level people are generally warm and kind, helping each other to encourage better workplace, but the top management does not look to see as like that, like they sometimes force employees (engineers!!) to sell other department's products to promote overall combined conglomerate's revenue increase.
