Pros

Generally good people to work with. Like anywhere the quality of the people you most directly work with was the key element in your success and progression. Some great people who really were at the top of their field.

Cons

It is an still an series of small practices under one brand. Many of the processes and systems are still being figured out and progress on HR, knowledge sharing and the advisory products were neing developed on the run. There were a couple of partners who were not good to work for and because they were 'the owners'of the business no one would confront them.

Pros

Deparments are not segmented by industries compared to other Big 4. Hence, will have a portfolio of multiple industries which will give you a broad learning base. In the later stages of your career you can also negotiate to focus on a few industries. Friendly and helful seniors in training you in areas your not comfortable with. Commitment to sports and social activities by the partners and managers.

Cons

Like the other Big 4, you will experience long hours. During off-peak periods (Apr to Sep) you will be going home at 6-7pm on average. During peak periods (Oct to Mar) you will be going home at 9-11pm on average. Although most seniors are helpful their management skills tend to be bad in not knowing how to allocate assignments to juniors. Hence, in certain areas your doing more than is required and there is uneven work hours within the team.
