      Pros

      professional environment that lacks the disparaging remarks, finger pointing and backstabbing that I've seen other places. The company makes a strong effort to keep employees informed. Salary and benefits are about average for a large company. Provides a lot of opportunity for non-degreed people.

      Cons

      Bureaucratic. Layoffs. I can't say that the company really values its people. Raises are disappointing and benefits are under assault. In the last 10 years, my salary rose about 5% above inflation despite having "excellent" reviews. They seem to think that the employees are fungible - they will always opt for the cheaper employee - that is offshore - rather than investing in their staff. Getting external training can be a challenge. A lot of off hours work.

      Pros

      Over my 10 years with JCI, the company was highly supportive and fair to me. I had multiple opportunities for growth and development. I was always struck by the high degree of ethical standards that we lived by, led by the examples set by senior leadership. I was very proud to say that I worked for JCI.

      Cons

      I was very happy during my time at JCI. However, the events of the recent past have soured my view. The CEO should have been fired for his inappropriate relationship with an external executive coach. I was afforded the opportunity to be coached by her firm, and it now appears that such interactions were not kept confidential. This violates my trust. I am mystified why the BOD did not view this as gross misconduct.

      Pros

      Nice people around, I've spent nice years with very friendly guys. International habitat is big plus for someone who wants to improve his/her english.

      Cons

      I was disapointed about how they deal with experienced people. Unfortunately, there is very low probability to make some personal growth by professional way, bigger chance for making some personal progress is friendship with local management. This was the reason why I left. I believe this was problem at the location where I was working, it does not have to be the same in general in each JC location.
