Pros

Supportive of flexible and independent work arrangements, allowing our team the freedom to innovate without too much restraint. Large international presence provides good opportunities for mobility. Friendly to virtual work arrangements.

Cons

Frequent turnover of personnel causes ongoing stress in the workplace, especially when layoffs affect even top-performing employees. Often sets completely unrealistic financial goals, setting the businesses up for failure and stress.

Pros

Most... Most of the bosses give you room to use your talent and do your job. If you are skilled, and want to do well, (and get the right manager) you certainly can here.

Cons

Lots of ups and downs, never really sure what's coming next. Though it seems to be stabilizing lately. It comes and goes with the economy.

Pros

Tyco has a history of executing some of the most complex business transactions so it gives you the opportunity to learn in a real world environment. During my time with the company I have executed two spinoffs, shared service creation in US and LATAM as part of finance transformation, two headquarter moves (Bermuda to Switzerland to no Ireland) and now an inversion merger.

Cons

Due to the fast pace at Tyco often the details of executing management vision falls through the cracks; this is especially the case in the HR function so often you are on your own in navigating bad managers and career progression decisions. I do not view this as a major con but it may be a deal breaker for some so I am mentioning it. At Tyco you definitely have to be a self-starter who can manage your own career with little structured help or processes similar to companies like Johnson & Johnson or GE.
